The Kuhlenschmidt Family in the Netherlands
The earliest known Kuhlenschmidt in this branch is Anton Rudolf Kuhlenschmidt. He was born in Alverdissen, Germany, on December 14, 1722. When this branch of the Kuhlenschmidt  family moved to the Netherlands a change in the spelling of the family name was made.
The descendents of Anton Rudolf Kuhlenschmidt are known as the Koelensmid family. During the 1960's and 1970's letters were exchanged between W.A.A. Blanche-Koelensmid and Raymond Kuhlenschmidt of the Indiana branch. W.A.A. and his son were both involved in family history research.
